SoWhat?! Music Festival Day 2 was quite a ride, to say the least. What started out as a hot, melting Texas summer day turned into a cool, wet, muddy evening. Bands such as Not Enough Space, Oceano, and Felicity got their sets out of the way early on in the day, whereas other artists like Soasin had to find another venue to perform after a 2 hour rain delay that lead many fans outside to take cover until the festival resumed. But that didn’t stop them from getting back in line and waiting eagerly to get back in and enjoy some of their favorite artists. Despite the hot, muggy and humid weather, SoWhat?! crew took care of the fans with free water throughout the day.
Skillet headlined the main stage with what felt like unlimited energy. A little bit of rain wasn’t going to stop them from committing to an electrifying set. Kicking things off with their latest hit “Feel Invincible”, lead singer John Cooper got the entire crowd belching along with every word as he jumped ecstatically all over the stage. The legendary Christian rock band definitely left their mark and made the rain delay worth the wait, never missing a beat, and keeping all the fans singing along, pumping their fists in the air will excitement. Of course they couldn’t leave town without a few fan-favorite hits like “Monster” and “Hero”.
Overall, SoWhat?! Music Festival was quite a success. Sometimes unfortunate events beyond anyone’s control, like Mother Nature, can put a damper on original plans. However the show did go on and thousands of fans had a memorable time to look back on and talk about for years to come.
